Supermarket parking lots and storefronts in Australia and New Zealand present a brutal operating environment for outdoor displays. High UV exposure, summer temperatures that push electronics to their limits, and 24/7 operation require displays built to withstand conditions that would kill standard commercial screens within months. A professional LCD and LED customer needed 125 outdoor displays deployed across multiple supermarket locations—and they needed them to last.

Défi du projet
The primary environmental challenge was strong UV radiation combined with high ambient temperatures. Standard LCD panels degrade quickly under direct UV exposure—polarizers yellow, adhesive layers fail, and contrast ratios drop. The client also needed the displays to be visible in bright sunlight while maintaining readability for advertising content.
Solution MWE
MWE deployed AR laminated glass on all units to reduce glare and protect the LCD panel surface. A high-temperature silk-screen process was used on the enclosures, and high-temperature-resistant LCD glass was specified for the panel stack. The 125-unit order included a mix of 55-inch and 65-inch single- and double-sided outdoor floor-standing displays configured to match each supermarket location’s layout and traffic patterns.
Configuration d'affichage
La configuration de l'affichage a été sélectionnée pour l'environnement d'installation et la cible du projet. Les détails clés du produit comprenaient :
- 15 x 55-inch single-sided units
- 30 x 55-inch double-sided units
- 10 x 65-inch single-sided units
- 15 x 65-inch double-sided units
- 40 x 55-inch single-sided outdoor floor-standing displays
- 15 x 55-inch double-sided outdoor floor-standing displays
Pourquoi cette solution a fonctionné
- AR laminated glass and high-temperature LCD glass addressed the specific UV and heat challenges of Australasian supermarket environments.
- Mixed configuration (single/double-sided, two screen sizes) provided deployment flexibility across different store formats.
- Two-batch delivery (70+55 units) allowed the client to phase rollout while maintaining consistent visual quality.

Résultat
The client stated unequivocally that future projects would continue with MWE. For high-volume outdoor display buyers in UV-intense markets, this project demonstrates that material selection—particularly AR glass and high-temperature-rated components—is the single most important factor in long-term deployment success.
