MWE Project 08: High-Brightness Outdoor Wall-Mounted Displays for Advertising in Poland

When a Polish printing and signage service provider moved into outdoor digital advertising, they needed 27 high-brightness wall-mounted displays around exhibition venues. But early in the deployment, software stability issues threatened the entire project: the CMS would crash or the program list would lose its sequence, requiring manual resets that undermined the client’s confidence in digital over print.

Project Challenge

The root cause wasn’t the displays themselves—it was playback software instability. CMS flashback/crash issues and playlist disorder meant the client couldn’t reliably schedule advertising content across the network. For a company transitioning from static print to dynamic digital, these failures weren’t just technical annoyances; they threatened the business case they had presented to their own customers.

MWE Solution

MWE coordinated a playback-box replacement across the affected units, swapping the problematic hardware for more reliable components running on the RK3568 platform. The enclosures were configured with integrated heaters for Central European winters and a lightbox logo for brand consistency. At 3500-nit brightness, the displays remained readable in direct sunlight at exhibition venues.

Display Configuration

The display configuration was selected for the installation environment and project target. Key product details included:

  • Outdoor wall-mounted display
  • RK3568 platform, heater, lightbox logo, and 3500-nit brightness

Why This Solution Worked

  • Playback-box replacement addressed the software stability issue at the hardware level rather than patching it.
  • Heater integration ensured reliable winter operation at exhibition venues—critical for a Polish outdoor deployment.
  • 3500-nit brightness and lightbox logo created visual presence that differentiates digital from static advertising.

Resultado

The initial batch order was followed by additional inquiries that also indicated batch-size potential. For signage and advertising service providers transitioning from print to digital, this case shows that hardware reliability and responsive manufacturer support are just as important as display specifications.
